Westomatic Vending - Background
Westomatic Vending Services Ltd was founded in 1966. The company originally established its reputation as a refurbisher of vending machines, supplying and distributing automatic vending machines and ingredients and support services throughout the South of the UK. These machines sold eggs, milk and a range of food and drinks.
Since its formation, the company has experienced rapid growth, and is now widely acknowledged as the UK’s leading beverage machine manufacturer. The company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant is based in the South West of England.
Westomatic and Fascia Graphics:
In May 2009, Westomatic launched a new logo, new website; new parts warranty scheme and a range of new customer care initiatives. The company also planned to showcase its full range of vending machines at June’s AVEX 2009.
Cathy Baillie, Marketing and Creative Communications Executive, commented:
“After a company-wide rebrand, we required new labels to showcase our range of hot beverage machines at AVEX 2009. A week before the show we identified three potential suppliers through the internet. After approaching all three companies, Fascia Graphics were the first to respond and they were the only one that committed to manufacturing the logos in such a short timescale. In addition, they offered to provide the show labels free of charge.”
Fascia Graphics manufactured labels for a range of machines, including the new Prelude Coffee Tower, specially designed for forecourt traders and smaller retail outlets, the Sigma 12oz Hot Beverage Machine, the Solo Encore Hot Beverage Machine, SnackPoint Machines and the Otis chilled bottle, can and water vending machines.Cathy Baillie concluded:
“To our surprise the labels even arrived a day before their expected delivery date. The quality and speed of service from Fascia Graphics was very impressive.
We had a highly successful Avex 2009, showcasing three winning new vending solutions. The feedback at the show was very positive and we are now discussing future projects with Fascia Graphics.”
A mutally sustainable approach
In terms of sustainability within the UK market, Westomatic and Fascia Graphics have very similar policies. Both strongly believe that buying from British manufacturers is very important and over 90 per cent of the components and materials both companies use in manufacture are sourced within the UK. For instance, Westomatic’s circuit boards come from Swindon, its sheet metal comes from Weymouth and, of course, its labels come from Chippenham.
