Brush finished stainless steel effect for membrane keypads

Autotex Steel is a new product launched by key Fascia supplier, MacDermid Autotype. This innovative hardcoated polyester film produces stainless steel effects for membrane keyboards, keypads and fascia panels.

The benefits of Autotex Steel are not just cosmetic. It can easily be embossed, making it ideal for use with domed tactile membrane keypads or in applications where keys or panel areas need to have raised edges.

Autotex Steel is also easy to handle throughout the manufacturing process. Our customers have also found that its tough outer surface provides excellent resistance to abrasion and from a wide range of chemicals and solvents. For instance, Fascia customer, PowerOasis recently benefited from using Autotex Steel. The company required a membrane keypad for its PowerOasis Controller (D) - a new 19” rack mounted diesel generator management unit. The membrane needed a data entry keypad plus associated display to change configuration settings and manage alarms. To find out more about PowerOasis’ use of Autotex Steel, please click here.

We have also recently developed ‘chrome ink’ technology; which gives a bright metallic look to graphic overlays and membrane keypads.

And, as one of the only company’s in the market providing this form of technology; many of our customers are already receiving very positive feedback from their customers on the chrome ink finish.

For instance, John Walker, Managing Director of Stafford Instruments Ltd. commented on our chrome-ink technology: “We now use the chrome ink on six of our products where it is used to pick out logos and keycaps. It gives these items a distinctive and pleasing reflective metallic finish which gives our front panels a substantial machined from the solid look.”

We have also just completed a project, which incorporated chrome ink, for Sunseeker, one of the world’s pre-eminent luxury motoryacht manufacturers. If you would like to view this case study, please click here
