Fascia Graphics works with SMARTech to further reduce carbon footprint

Here at Fascia Graphics® were are constantly investing in new and innovative technology to improve our manufacturing processes, making them greener and learner, resulting in the reduction of our carbon footprint.

One such investment that drastically reduced our carbon footprint, while simultaneously increasing our productivity was the purchase of two state-of-the-art Sakurai MS80-SD cylinder presses.  This investment in cutting edge printing technology ensures the consistent quality of our membrane keypads, graphic overlays and labels that our customers have come to expect.

In addition to investing in innovating production machinery we have also, (with the help of SMARTech Energy), invested in new SMART technology that will cut the energy consumption of our Chippenham site by over a third.

The investment in SMART technology involves four main areas:

1.       Voltage optimisation

Voltage optimisation has been fitted to the main incoming power supply so that we improved our power quality and achieved a saving of 11.5% across the entire site.

2.       LED lighting with zone controlled sensors

Replacing the lighting throughout our Chippenham facility has improved the light quality, reduced maintenance and saved 77% of the current lighting costs.

3.       Motor optimisation

Optimising the motors provided an opportunity to reduce the amount of energy the larger motors use by up to 35%.

4.       Air conditioning optimisation

Although some of our air conditioning systems already have optimisation built into them by way of inverters, an additional system has been installed so that a further 20% in energy savings have been achieved.

As Fascia Graphics® continues to grow it is vitally important to continue investing in all aspects of the business. The latest energy saving technologies are a major part of making us one of the most efficient and green manufacturers in the industry.
