How did Chippenham based company Fascia Graphics reduce their carbon footprint?

After becoming the first manufacturer in the UK to invest the Sakurai MS80-SD in 2012, Fascia Graphics, has invested in a second machine. As a result, the company advises it will benefit from further performance and energy efficiency improvements which will lead to a significant reduction in its carbon footprint.
After working closely with the Sakurai and Natgraph, the supplier of the machine – the printer has been built with a Natgraph High Temperature, Air Force UV/IR combination dryer, Model 90, which is the latest technology for a cylinder screen printing line for industrial screen printing. The machine is also claimed to come with a unique anti scratch substrate paths, which is able to reduce waste.
How it reduces energy consumption…
Designed with a bespoke heat exchange unit, that cleans and recycles the waste air out of the drying line, the machine is claimed to significantly reduce energy consumption and running costs.
The press has is also able to reduce the amount of dust and debris entering the atmosphere because it has been installed within a positive pressure environment, with temperature and humidity closely controlled. This consequently is said to reduce any downtime of the press during production and further waste.
Michael Hole, Systems Improvement Manager at Fascia Graphics, said:

As raw material and energy costs keep rising, this new line will enable us to continue supplying a market leading product at a competitive price.”
The Ultra-high precision rotary and stop motion cylinder screen press also includes a print elongation correction system, a pressurised squeegee system that is claimed to guarantee consistent ink weight and a multi-sensor system that the company advises, guarantees perfect alignment between colours.
