IP67 – one of the best Ingress Protection Ratings in the industry
IP67 may sound like a droid from Star Wars, but it actually stands for one of the best IP or Ingress Protection ratings in the membrane keypad and graphic overlay industry (and probably the Galaxy!).
Here at Fascia Graphics, we have met British Standards for IP ratings for over 20 years, and once again we have worked with an external test house to approve our IP65 and IP67 rated membrane keypads - demonstrating the degree of protection they have against the intrusion of foreign bodies such as dust and water.
Following completion of the IP tests and a complete test report, we’re able to further reassure customers that the products we supply are fully tested to the requirements set out in the relevant British Standards for IP ratings.
Meeting these high standards are not common place across the UK’s graphic overlay and membrane keypad industry. In fact, we have been approached by a number of manufacturers recently who have had IP related problems. For instance, an electrical monitor manufacturer approached us as they had a water ingress issue with a product they were working on with their incumbent membrane supplier.
Having looked at the design of the product, we ascertained that the IP rating of 54 was not appropriate for where the product would be situated, and this was causing the failures. IP54 will protect against dust and limited ingress, while IP67 will provide total protection against dust and against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m. We therefore recommended the best solution was to change to a fully water proof IP67 rated membrane. Since these changes were introduced the customer hasn’t experienced any failures.
By getting an external test house to IP rate test our membrane keypads, we have received an objective, standalone, seal of approval that if you choose Fascia Graphics, you will receive the highest quality IP rated product.

On the face of it, a product label serves the simple purpose of telling you what the product is. That information might extend to safety and regulatory information, as required in the territory where the product will be sold, but this would be a rather dry description of what a label can do.
