Smart Solutions Reduce Fascia’s Environmental Impact
At the end of 2014, Fascia commissioned SMARTech energy to conduct an Energy Management Survey to see how we could reduce our carbon footprint. Once the factory had been assessed, an energy plan was put in place to reduce consumption of electricity and carbon emissions by a third.
The energy plan consisted of improving efficiency in a number of key areas of the factory. LED lighting combined with motion sensors to ensure no lights can be left on unnecessarily helped reduce energy consumption by a staggering 75 per cent. An energy efficient compressor proved almost as successful delivering a 73 per cent reduction. Optimising voltage and motors delivered more savings (17 per cent and 88 per cent respectively), and these strategies combined helped Fascia to achieve a yearly carbon reduction of over 130 tonnes.
Ernie Griffin, Co-founder and Financial Director of Fascia Graphics commented:
“Working with SMARTech energy has been a fantastic success on every level. From the outset, they identified a number of key areas where we could make significant improvement, and were committed to reducing our carbon footprint significantly. The fact that they actually exceeded their targets will further benefit Fascia’s environmental credentials.”
Stuart Pearce, Managing Director from SMARTech energy commented:
“We’re really proud of the work we’ve done with Fascia Graphics. Through implementing our market leading nine step method we have not just hit our target of reducing energy consumption - we’ve exceeded it. Working with Fascia has been really refreshing, as we enjoy working with likeminded organisations who are forward thinking and positively trying to improve not just their bottom line; but also their environmental impact.”
